Code of Ethics
AI Ethics Code
The Ethics Code for the use of artificial intelligence in nursing homes and senior living facilities, as an assistant for nurses and an activation tool for clients of these facilities, in our concept includes the following principles:
1. Respect for human dignity: Artificial intelligence must be designed and used in a way that respects the dignity and autonomy of every individual. It must not participate in any activities that could lead to the dehumanization or degradation of clients.
2. Transparency and accountability: The development and use of artificial intelligence must be transparent. Care providers must be able to explain how the systems make decisions and how they affect the rights and comfort of clients. At the same time, we are establishing mechanisms for accountability in case of errors or misuse.
3. Privacy and data protection: All data collected and processed by artificial intelligence must be protected against misuse and unauthorized access. Clients must have full control over their data, and their privacy preferences must be respected.
4.Client is given a choice at each communication session:
• to delete everything after the conversation and forget it, as if the conversation never happened
• permission to save for themselves what transpired, so that the robot can later return to it and learn.
• to share the conversation results with the nurse and other people in the facility
• to compile a compliment or complaint, the result will be passed on to the management.
5..Safety and reliability:: Artificial intelligence must be designed with an emphasis on safety and reliability. Errors or system failures that could endanger the health and safety of clients are unacceptable.
6.Not reducing human interaction: The aim of using artificial intelligence in nursing homes and senior living facilities should be to strengthen human interaction, not replace it. Artificial intelligence should serve as support for staff and an activation tool, not as a replacement for human care and attention.
7.Focusing on the benefit of clients: All applications of artificial intelligence in these facilities should be designed to bring real benefit and improve the quality of life for clients. It is important to emphasize the individual needs and preferences of clients.
8. Cultural sensitivity and inclusivity: Artificial intelligence should respect cultural differences and individual needs of clients. It is necessary to ensure that the technology is accessible and usable for everyone regardless of their cultural, linguistic, or physical background.
9. Continuous education and development: Staff working with artificial intelligence should regularly participate in educational courses and should be supported in developing their skills. It is important for them to be able to use the technology effectively and thus ensure the maximum benefit for clients.
